![]() You can’t make food without having all the ingredients. While doing so I also had them save up ~$500,000 to buy a nicer bigger house/lot.īack to your question though: yes it does make it a little harder. Then they had two daughters they mostly raised in that cottage. Once I was done in build mode I cheated their money down to a few thousand just so they could pay their bills while getting started. So I cheated them to have enough money that I could buy whatever house I wanted and remodel it. So I kinda am going for a legacy/rags to riches type challenge and didn’t use many if any cheats for a long time. So the family I created when I got CL was just a mom and dad at first. I like the older like play style, I think if you’re into doing decades challenges it could come in handy for that too ![]() I haven’t figured out where/how to find birds but □□♀️ Sometimes they help garden and sometimes they don’t. Chickens were cool until they breed like rabbits. I started my gameplay off with a SAHM and a dad (in some career dont remember) and having the SHAM (or dad) is very helpful for taking care of the garden and chickens/cows. Simple living is a really nice touch to the gameplay for the new world. I’d be more into going to the square to get groceries if it didn’t mean sitting through loading screens (really not a fan of having a loading screen every time I want to leave my house but meh). I also really enjoy the simple living lot trait and introduction of ordering groceries. It’s not a super quick way of making cash (like painting is super quick) but it’s totally worth it! With the introduction of oversized plants the cash flow is even more (mushrooms seem to always go for over 700 if you take care of them). However, with this pack I can’t get enough of gardening. I’d try to get a sim into it but never held onto it for long with them. Previous to its release I never cared much for gardening. I really love the cottagecore vibes, but tend to keep that vibe strictly to the new world. I wasn’t too sure if I’d really love it when I bought it, but bought it anyways. So I definitely think there are some things that the game could have tweaked that I now tweak with mods. I play rotationally though so if ever I feel like I need a break from my Cottage family I go play another family in a different world for a bit.Įdit 2: I do also have some mods installed to make the animals live longer, and to make the animals get dirty slower because at times, the game can be ridiculous with how fast the llamas / cows dirty their sheds. I paid full price for the pack and I don't regret it so I would definitely get it for half price.Įdit: what I will say is that sometimes, the tending animals routine does feel like a bit of a grind. I have become really attached to all the animals, I quite like running the errands, and the world is stunning. I have found I actually really do enjoy the livestock aspect of it, and as I started my Sim in a starter home with barely any money left after purchase, the financial aspect of it was a real challenge in the first week (added the Simple Living trait as well for good measure). When the pack was announced, I wasn't too big on it because I have never been someone to want a farming pack, I am not massively into the Cottagecore aesthetic etc. Overall though, very happy with the pack. I'm also disappointed that there is a glitch on ps4 that makes the cross stitch come out in black and white :( I have 5, so maybe it would be different if I had fewer □♀️ My chickens are often "starving", even though I feed them twice a day. The animals can be a bit dramatic sometimes. I'm an introvert irl, and in game, so I tend to keep my sims to themselves, but in this save I'm actually having them have relationships outside of their immediate family because they need to run errands for the main npcs. They are both technically unemployed, but with my animals, garden, and some fishing, they manage to make a decent amount of money. It takes my 2 sims about half a day to tend to it all. ![]() I'm on a tiny lot, but have a cow, a llama, some chickens, and a big garden. I even bought nifty knitting during this sale (something that had previously never crossed my mind!) because I thought it would go really well with it!
